Not
Quite the feeling
When Dan Josefson read excerpts from his book,
he appeared to be shy. The novel that’s not
a feeling had a slight sense of humor. The passages from the book were very
interesting when you listen closely. There were times during the reading where Josefson
would not raise his voice. His voice was very monotone which made the reading a
bit boring. Josefson seemed to enjoy the questions of the audience. Although he
read clearly and fluently, the reading would have been more enjoyable if he
read the passages with some life.
That’s not a feeling is a book that would be enjoyable to young
adults, maybe the people of this age group will be able to relate on some
level. This novel is the product of years of hard work. Josefson said that it
took him about ten years to revise his work. The most interesting part is how
he came up with the main idea of this story. While he read the passages and
answered questions, I noticed that this is his dream.
The most interesting part
of the reading is when you notice how Josefson uses the characters to narrate the
story. The way Josefson chose the characters to be the narrator is something I have
never seen in a book before. The narration technique is something that will
definitely grab the attention of many readers.
During the reading, Josefson
kept his head down and he seemed humorous throughout the reading. Despite the tone of the author, the book
grabbed the attention of many people in the audience. At the end of the
reading, a few people were interested in buying the book and Josefson seemed
happy.
In the future, Josefson should
raise his voice and read with some life. Being nervous while reading passages
from your own book is normal. However, being too nervous can affect the way the
audience perceives the book.
